Based in London, ON, Canada (born and raised in Hamilton, ON), singer-songwriter Sophia Korz incorporates her classical roots into her art-pop sonic world. Often compared to Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette, she is influenced by Tori Amos, Birdy, Ruelle, The 1975, Hans Zimmer, and John Williams in addition to her love for literature, theatre, art, and cinema. As a past SOCAN Equity X Production alumni (2023), she began to explore digital music production in a professional capacity while working on her debut EP, Education (2026). Centered around themes of media censorship and artistic expression in a digital era, Education combines elements of indie ballads, 80s synth pop, and classical orchestration with lush vocal harmonies and satirical lyricism in singles like “Warped” and “Pretty People”. To complete this project, Korz self-produced five experimental music videos in collaboration with Prevail Media Group. Sophia is also a professional choral singer and private music teacher.
