CANADIAN MUSIC ENTREPRENEURS FUNDING THROUGH CANADA MUSIC FUND

A funding pool of $5 million is available for Canadian music entrepreneurs through the Canada Music Fund. The program is being administered by FACTOR who have now issued guidelines & deadlines for the COVID-19 Phase 2 relief.
This steam of funding is specific to Canadian music entrepreneurs that do not normally receive funding via the Canada Music Fund - specifically, Canadian-owned recording studios, music video producers, as well as music publishers and record labels that do not currently receive funding through the CMF.
Eligibility criteria for all applicants:
- Activities must relate to your Canadian portion of music-related activities.
- Must be a Canadian-owned organization that doesn't receive funding through the CMF, and who has not received any funding via Phase 1 or the live music component of Phase 2.
- Organizations & entrepreneurs with revenues of $100,000 or more must have had a profit margin of less than 15% in their last fiscal year (or at least since March 15, 2020).
Eligibility criteria specifically for record labels & music publishers:
- At least 50% of your revenues in your last fiscal year came from eligible music-related activities related to Canadian artists.
OR
- At least 50% of your roster must be Canadian artists.
