The London Music Office would like to congratulate Alfredo Caxaj for being appointed as Member to the Order or Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honors.

London, Ontario; December 28, 2023 — Alfredo Caxaj, a prominent figure in the Canadian arts and culture scene, has been appointed as Member to the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest civilian honors. This prestigious recognition comes in acknowledgment of Caxaj's remarkable contributions to the arts, as well as his tireless efforts in promoting diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism in Canada, and specifically in London, Ontario.

As the founder of Sunfest-London Committee for Cross Cultural Arts, Inc., Alfredo has been the driving force behind numerous initiatives that have significantly enriched Canada's cultural landscape, including the signature free-admission festival of music, dance, crafts and cuisine from around the globe, TD Sunfest, known as “Canada’s Premier Celebration of Global Cultures”, now about to celebrate its 30th edition. His unwavering commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and celebrating the rich tapestry of diverse communities has left an indelible mark on the nation. Through Sunfest, Alfredo has demonstrated an exceptional ability to use the arts as a catalyst for dialogue, understanding, and unity.

The Order of Canada recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities and the country as a whole.
