London Shines Bright at Canadian Music Week

With the utmost pride, Tourism London and the London Music Office are thrilled to announce London award winners at the 2024 Canadian Live Music Industry Awards (CLMIA) which took place during Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto.

The CLMIAs are a night of celebration and recognition bringing together the Canadians behind live music. This year’s event took on additional significance with Fanshawe Music Industry Arts graduate, JUNO and Polaris Prize winner, Haviah Mighty hosting the award show. The awards took place on June 4th as part of CMW and showcased performances from Ari Hicks, Kingfish and a special tribute by The Pursuit of Happiness, lead by Fanshawe College professor Moe Berg.

The Canadian music industry spoke and awarded the outstanding contributions of Rum Runners (Best Teamwork in a Small Club), Rock the Park (Medium Festival of the Year) and the City of London (Music City of the Year). This recognition comes days ahead of Forest City London Music Week (June 9-16), celebrating nearly 200 local and regional musicians.

“London continues to be a major contributor to the music industry and plays an integral role across Canada as a UNESCO City of Music. Seeing our festivals, venues, production companies and individuals acknowledged for their outstanding contributions reaffirms what we have long known, London is a vibrant and diverse music community filled with exceptional talent. Congratulations to the teams at Rock the Park and Rum Runners for their visionary leadership in the community. Thank you to the City of London and all its partners for continuing to recognize the significant and positive impacts live music is making every day in London.”
Cory Crossman, Director, London Music Office

“Live music changes lives every single day. The 8th annual Canadian Live Music Industry Awards were a chance to reconnect and celebrate with colleagues from across the country. In this 10th anniversary year of the association, we remain deeply inspired by how much artists, and the music they create, mean to the world—today and everyday. The CLMA congratulates its incredible members, nominees, and recipients. Here’s to the next ten years and the bright future of live music in Canada!”
