Moving the Mark: Building capacity in London's live music venues

Serving on the front lines of the music industry, live music presenters and promoters are the ever-critical real time link between artists and fans. Yet during times of economic and regulatory flux, venues and clubs seem to constantly need to adapt, reinvent and rethink their business models. As the live music paradigm continues to shift and grow, competition and other forces can put additional pressure on our local rooms and stages.

The London venue community offers vibrant, rich live music experiences for fans. But there are challenges that impact our ability to thrive. How have other venues managed to prosper in their markets? What are our common challenges, goals?

Join three of our venue colleagues from Hamilton (This Ain't Hollywood), Waterloo (Maxwell's Concerts & Events) & Windsor (Dominion House Tavern (The DH)) as they explore mutual barriers and unique opportunities in their home markets, and help us to move our local discussions forward. With time for Q+A, and moderated by the national live music industry association, Music Canada Live, we will also ask the burning question: what role does/can/should the City play in the development of a city’s live music sector?

This is a not-to-be-missed session hosted by Erin Benjamin of Music Canada Live! This discussion has been curated and customized for the local London venue community exclusively!!!
