Singing Along: A look into London's Folk Music History

Discover some of the stories behind the singers and songs that created London's rich history with Singing Along, a series of blog posts and quizzes that explore our folk music story. Singing Along is curated by the FCLMA London Music Hall of Fame team in partnership with the London Music Office.

Singing Along’s guest contributors include London Music Hall of Fame inductees and fans who heard Canadians folk music icons perform years before they were stars. But even our ace contributors can’t capture all the London folk excellence in the Singing Along blog posts being shared this fall. So we hope you will want to do some singing along by sharing your stories, too.

The first post is Nov. 3 when London folklorist and musician Amanda Lynn Stubley and retired London Free Press entertainment writer and columnist Ian Gillespie test you with London-folk-fun-fact trivia quizzes. One hint: Check out the HOF inductees at FCLMA.ca and maybe you will have a folk-fun-fact edge.

Each post will live online at www.londonmusicoffice.com.

The not-for-profit Forest City London Music Awards and its forerunners have been recognizing London’s music excellence since 2003. It hosts an annual London Music Week and operates and curates the award-winning London Music Hall of Fame,182 Dundas St. The HOF has been closed during the pandemic. FCLMA board members are working to reopen the HOF when it is safe to do so.

Visit FCLMA.ca or our Singing Along partners’ sites — via LondonMusicOffice.com — for more information.
