Forest City Film Fest Prepares For Big Day Of Music Content
- By Cory Crossman

London is a cultural hub, waiting to be discovered. While music has been a major catalyst in growing the culture sector, so too has film. London's Forest City Film Festival, beginning on October 19th, continues to draw attention to the blossoming film community.
Music is tied very closely to the film & television sector. As London grows as a music & film city, the London Music Office is working alongside partners like FCFF to bring the two sectors together. The Sync Summit, as part of The Forest City Film Festival, will bring industry experts to London to discuss music publishing, sync licensing and song placement in movies and TV productions. Free to attend, guests will hear from industry leaders including Margaret McGuffin (Canadian Music Publishers) and Everton Lewis Jr. (Wracket Music Supervision) and, Tika Simone (artist, DJ, film composter) among other guests. The Sync Summit takes place from 1:30 - 3:30pm on Saturday October 23rd at 100 Kellogg Lane. Tickets and information can be found HERE.
Sync Summit activities include:
- Music Publishing 101
- Role of a Music Supervisor
- Music Sync Panel Chat
- Networking
Later that night, from 7:00 - 9:00pm, music videos take centre stage at 100 Kellogg Lane as the 2nd annual Music Video Competition showcases artists from within S. W. Ontario. There will be videos by Lido Pimienta, Status/Non-Status, Babygirl and more. Fifteen (15) videos will be screened in total. Come watch the spectacular music videos in competition for the Best Music Video award and enjoy live performances from amazing regional bands. Tickets are $25.00 each and can be purchased HERE.
The Forest City Film Festival takes place from October 19th - 30th, and information about all of the events can be found at www.fcff.ca.
