Shifting To Orange (Restrict) Level and REVS Training Sessions

LONDON HAS ENTERED ORANGE-RESTRICT LEVEL AS OF MONDAY MARCH 1st

Live music is able to return to London venues with restrictions in place. To learn about what this means refer to the Covid-19 Response Framework. An overview of guidelines is outlined below.

  • Capacity limits per venue, where physical distancing can be maintained:
    • 50 spectators indoors or
    • 100 spectators outdoors
  • Singers and players of wind or brass instruments must be separated from spectators by plexiglass or some other impermeable barrier
  • Performers and employees must maintain 2 metres physical distance except for purposes of the performance
  • Liquor sold or served only between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • No consumption of liquor permitted between 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.
  • Require contact information from all patrons
  • Screening of patrons is required, in accordance with instructions issued by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health
  • Rehearsal or performing a recorded or broadcasted event permitted
  • Drive-in performances permitted
  • safety plan is required to be prepared and made available upon request

To assist live music presenters, The London Music Office is hosting two Re-Opening Every Venue Safely sessions. 

The London Music Office is working with Janet Sellery, a health and safety consultant specializing in live event safety, to deliver information sessions to help re-open every venue safely in London.  

Based on reasonable practices, research and industry guidance, the goal is to support and educate live music venues managers so they may reopen in a healthy, safe, artistically and financially feasible manner, in accordance with current public health requirements.
