Grant Opportunities
City of London Offers Small Events Fund!
- By Alex Emrich

NeighbourGood London is offering a new funding program with the City of London! The Neighbourhood Small Event Fund is a one-time grant, covering up to $500 of costs for small events held by local London neighbourhood or community groups. The fund is meant to assist groups financially with their events, in turn building the capacity of local leaders, partnerships, and providing opportunities to engage the public. To us, it sounds like the perfect opportunity to host a musical get-together, since the fund can cover stage rentals, sound equipment rentals, and more! The criterion for an event to be eligible for the fund is a small not-for-profit event on public property which is accessible, open to the public, and free of charge.
When asked about the new fund program, Janice Walter, Manager of Neighbourhood & Community Funding for the City of London, said “This new fund is a great resource for groups who want to come together to host a community gathering to connect with their neighbours. Events are created by the group themselves and we provide the funds to help make it happen! The fund is easily accessible (a simple one-page application) and is available to both informal and formal neighbourhood groups.”
If you're planning an event that sounds like this, filling out an application is easy! You can find the Neighbourhood Small Events Fund Application here.
Read more details about the fund here, and also make sure to check out the NeighbourGood London website! For questions, contact 519-661-5336 or neighbourgood@london.ca.
This is a great opportunity to help your group host their own community music event, so make sure to look into the Neighbourhood Small Event Fund if it could apply!
