Music Talks: Showcasing & Networking

The Music Talks series is back in 2020. The first event takes place at London's historic Call The Office on Tuesday Janaury 28th. Free to attend, this event tackles the topic of effectively showcasing & networking. A panel of heavy hitters includes management from Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAOntario), Ontario Presents and Folk Music Ontario (FMO).

2020 will be a big year for showcasing in London as all three of the above organizations will visit London later this year. Understanding these organizations, the industry that attend their events and how to engage individuals is integral to successfuly showcasing & networking. Music Talks: Showcasing & Networking will allow attendees a first hand encounter to learn about the different Ontario based organizations and how to make the most of their visits to London.

The Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAOntario) is an Ontario-based, province-wide, not-for-profit organization. The objective of the CMAOntario, through the leadership and experience of our Board of Directors, is to celebrate, foster and support the growth and development of Ontario’s country music community and all those associated with the Ontario country music infrastructure – provincially, nationally and internationally. Each year their membership gathers during their annual Conference, Festival and Awardshow.

The CMAOntario Annual Conference & Awardshow will be taking place in London from May 29 - 31.

Ontario Presents is a province-wide network of performing arts touring and presenting organizations that work collaboratively to facilitate the distribution of live, performing arts shows – and their engagement with citizens – into communities across Ontario. Each year they present Ontario Contact  which is is Ontario’s largest and longest running annual performing arts showcase and booking conference. Every year Ontario Contact engages over 200 artists, presenters, agents, managers, and industry stakeholders in showcase performances, workshops, and an arts industry marketplace.

Ontario Contact will be taking place in London September 10 - 12th.

Folk Music Ontario has been a leader in Ontario for the past three decades. Through careful oversight and leadership of the member-elected boards of directors, FMO supports the growth and development of the folk music community and industry. They strive to continue supporting a thriving, inclusive folk music community with local and international impact. FMO gathers their membership and others together annually for their Conference, Chowcases and Awardshow.

Folk Music Ontario takes place in London September 25 - 27th.
