Populusque Romanus is an indie alt-rock band from London, Ontario started in 2014. The name is a derivative of Senatus Populusque Romanus, meaning the senate and people of Rome. Their sound is influenced by Radiohead, Muse, Mother Mother, Led Zeppelin and U2. Jesse Grant - bassist and lead vocalist - has been fronting bands since 2011. He’s had experience with various eclectic stringed instruments, and been trained in multiple singing styles. Lucy Grant - drummer and vocalist - has been active in London area bands since 2011. She also plays the guitar, and has extensive training in a variety of vocal styles. Queena Liu - lead guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocals - began taking piano lessons at the age of four and is the longtime student of Clark Bryan. She also teaches piano for youth in the El Sistema Aeolian program in London.
