The London Music Office is seeking participants for the London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group.

The purpose of the London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group is to counsel and assist the Director, London Music Office with expert industry insight in decision-making and planning related to the implementation of London’s UNESCO City of Music Action Plan. The meetings will serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas, input and advice on the challenges and opportunities for the city’s music industry as they relate to the implantation of the UNESCO City of Music Action Plan. The first iteration of this resource group will help build a new London UNESCO City of Music Action Plan for 2027 – 2030.

London’s City of Music Resource Group will consist of 8 – 10 music industry professionals including:

•         Musicians
•         Music venues & festivals
•         Producers / engineers
•         Music associations
•         Business managers
•         Media and recording studios
•         Music educators
•         Creative Sector Entrepreneurs

The Resource Group should consist of a gender balanced, diverse collection of individuals. Committee members must meet certain qualifications to be selected.

Music industry experts appointed to the ‘London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group’ should reflect the diversity of London and London’s music sector. Individuals should have a range of knowledge, skills and experience that includes a majority of the following areas:

1. Independent Artists
2. Events and Venues
   a. Venues
   b. Festival & Event Production
   c. Promoters
3. Artist and Business Management, Representation and Marketing
   a. Booking Agents
   b. Talent Development Firms
   c. Artist Management
   d. Marketing, Promotion, Sales
4. Music Creation
   a. Recording Studios & Mastering Studios
   b. Music Technology
   c. Record Labels and Distribution Firms
   d. Music Publishing and Licensing
5. Music Industry Support
   a. Media, Broadcasting, Awards
   b. Educational and Training Institutions (Western/Fanshawe/OIART)
   c. Trade, Industry, Artists’ Associations

Length of Service
Members will be appointed for a two-year term. If members wish to resign during the term of their appointment, they must submit a formal letter of resignation to the Director of the London Music Office, and a replacement member will be appointed.

The London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group will meet quarterly or as required. Additional meetings may be scheduled to address specific matters; it being noted that additional industry experts may be invited to attend and participate in more focused consultation meeting.

Selection Process
Applicants must complete the formal submission process within the allotted timeframe. All applicants will be notified of their status, either successful or unsuccessful, by the London Music Office. Involvement with past committees or Task Teams will be considered when applying to the London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group. Applicants will be selected by the London UNESCO City of Music Intake Group consisting of 3 music industry members from Tourism London’s Board of Directors.

Recognition and Remuneration:
Members of the London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group may have their names and accompanying organizations listed on www.LondonMusicOffice.com for the duration of their term. Participation on the London UNESCO City of Music Resource Group is voluntary.
